Terms & Conditions



RESERVATIONS

Credit/debit card details are required to confirm a reservation at Banks Rooms. No payment is taken unless requested, or if you cancel within 7 days of arrival or do not show. We may pre-authorize your card with a charge equivalent to one night's stay. For peak times or special events, we might take a deposit equal to one night's rate.

If you cannot secure the booking with a card, a cheque or bank transfer for the full stay is required. Online bookings may have different terms.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations up to 7 days before arrival incur no charge. Cancellations within 7 days will be charged one night's rate. No-shows may be charged the full reservation price. As a small business, cancellations can significantly impact us, especially if we have turned away other potential guests. Therefore, we advise taking out suitable insurance to cover unexpected costs such as cancellation fees.

CANCELLATION BY US

If we need to cancel your booking, we will inform you immediately and refund any payments made.

ROOM CHANGES

We reserve the right to transfer your booking to a similar room if necessary to meet specific guest needs or if the reserved room becomes unusable.

ADDITIONAL GUESTS

Should you wish to have additional guests stay in your room, we kindly ask that you inform us in advance. This is necessary to comply with health and safety regulations and insurance requirements. Please be advised that there is a supplementary charge of £20 per night, per additional guest, which will be your responsibility to cover.

DAMAGE AND BREAKAGES

Guests are responsible for any damages caused to the accommodation or its contents. Please report any incidents immediately to allow prompt resolution. We reserve the right to charge for significant repairs or replacements.

DATA

Some data collected during the booking process may be stored digitally. We may use this information to inform you of future offers unless you request otherwise.

KEYS

You have 24-hour access to the building and your room with the keys provided. A £100 replacement fee applies if keys are lost.

LIABILITY

We do not accept liability for any damage, loss, or injury to guests or their belongings unless caused by our negligence.

LOST PROPERTY

We are happy to return items left behind after departure, subject to a minimum charge of £10 to cover postage and packaging.

MISSING ITEMS

We reserve the right to charge for any items found missing after your stay.

PAYMENT

Payment is due at the time of booking.

PETS

Pets are not allowed in the rooms.

PRICES

Prices may change, but this will not affect existing bookings.

SMOKING

Smoking is not permitted in the rooms. A £150 fine applies for violations to cover the cost of professional cleaning.

TERMINATION POLICY

We reserve the right to terminate your stay without notice if deemed necessary due to unacceptable behavior or actions that endanger or offend others. No refunds will be made in such cases.

WI-FI ACCESS

By using our Wi-Fi, you agree to these terms. A Fair Use Policy ensures fast and reliable service for all guests. During busy periods, we may limit bandwidth for high-demand users. The service is provided "as available," and we are not liable for any downtime. Access may be suspended at any time.

SUPPLEMENT CHARGES

Camp bed (under 14) - £25 per stay. Early check-in/late checkout - £10 per hour, subject to availability. Additional guests - £20 per night, per guest.

ARRIVAL

Check-in is from 4pm. Banks Rooms is located above Banks Restaurant, but the restaurant does not handle guest check-ins. Self-service check-in details will be provided, including access codes and photographs to help direct you to your room.

PARKING

Free parking is available opposite Banks Rooms or at the public lot near Minster Abbey.  Security of your vehicle is your responsibility and left at your own risk.


LAW

This contract is governed by English Law. Disputes will be handled in English or Welsh courts.
